Whether we are referring to our business or our life ~ we wonder what our next 30 years has in store for us.

A year ago, many of us felt we had the luxury of pondering if we wanted to continue working or if we wanted to retire. Our biggest concern was that we were being “smart about it.”

Today we are told, “Well you knew the recession beginning back in 2007!”

“NO. I didn’t know,” and to me that statement is saying, “Gee, if you had just starting planning back then, you wouldn’t be in this predicament now.” They are right. If I had started to plan back in 2007 I would be in a considerably better place today – if I had known.

First off, don’t write off the smaller banks too quickly. A number of small banks have funds available and are often more willing to loan them, but you need to have been in business for over two to four years, depending upon the lending institution, and show proven profitability. It isn’t easy, but if you have a sound company with a good plan you may be able to secure those needed funds.

Third Party Lenders are often a good source when banks decline your loan request. When you can show you have a healthy company they are usually able to be more creative than a bank. The criteria ………………

Sensational headline but —

Never having been kidnapped; never having kidnapped anyone; hopefully will never be connected in any way with a kidnapping, the subject of kidnapping was promptly dismissed – only to reappear as a vague dark cloud in the back of my mind.
